CCG is one of Scotland’s largest construction and manufacturing groups, and our specialist Technical Department is seeking a new Assistant Technical Manager to join their team at our Cambuslang HQ.
CCG Technical is a diverse multi-disciplined team of nine, who integrate with CCG’s eight in-house divisions to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory requirements, while their best practice guidance on costs, programming, buildability, and sustainability is designed to create added value and drive efficiencies throughout the life cycle of each project.
SALARY: DOE
HOURS: Full time, 8.30am-5.00pm Monday to Thursday, 8.30am-4.00pm Friday. Core flexible hours available.
LOCATION: CCG Hub, 9 Cambuslang Road, Cambuslang Investment Park, Glasgow, G32 8NB. This is an office-based role.
STATUS: Permanent
THE ROLE
The role is essential to ensuring that all preconstruction works are carried out to the highest standards. You will work closely with design teams, programme managers and technical staff to review design proposals, employers’ requirements and specifications. In addition, you will provide practical guidance to support project delivery across various design stages while covering a broad spectrum of projects, working alongside:
* The Technical department to progress the preconstruction activities.
* A range of architects and engineers on design development.
* All statutory authorities.
* CCG Estimating to ensure practical and affordable build solutions.
* CCG Programme Managers to ensure project milestones are met as we work towards site start.
* The supply chain to ensure CCG stays at the forefront of product development.
* CCG internal divisions, such as construction, manufacturing, M&E and utilities.
SKILLS
* Technical knowledge/expertise in construction planning.
* Background in Assistant, Site Management or Trade Background.
* Student completing a degree in Construction Management.
* Strong understanding of construction methods, building regulations and industry standards.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and design details.
* Knowledge of Commercial and Contractual management.
* Be proactive and make informed decisions in a timely manner.
* Attention to detail and presentation.
* Excellent verbal and written communication with good interpersonal skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
