Purpose of the position To assist the regional management team in sourcing ongoing opportunities from new & existing customers, promote the business at all times under guidance of the RBM and to supervise an engineering team and assist in the building of a fully utilized, productive & cost-effective engineering work force to a high standard of workmanship. Responsibility: Responsible for team of Engineers within a designated region Responsible for engineers of varied abilities focusing on engineering excellence, providing training needs analysis and assist in a structured training plan with the long-term vision of increasing productivity and profitability. Essential job functions Act as the frontline first point of contact for engineers within a designated region offering advice and expertise to aid fault finding and diagnosis, while ensuring adherence to all Health and Safety legislation. Supervise and coordinate the engineering team, including Performance Management, PPE requirements, engineer tool lists are up to date, and carryout the day-to-day mentor and training of the less qualified engineers. Responsible for performance monitoring of team, including objective setting, annual appraisal cycle, productivity, capability, and take ownership of warranty part returns from engineers updating the warranty department when required. To be of smart & professional appearance especially when customer facing Check that all work carried out within the team is to a constant high standard & delivered in a Timely manner To carry out all engineering tasks in a timely manner, maintaining a constant high standard at all times. Achieve 80% or above personal productivity. Participate in the 24/7 call out Rota along with ensuring the Rota is manned and fully utilized. To act as a coach/mentor to the lesser experienced team members as & when required provide one-to-one mentoring/coaching. Ensure all administrative work is constantly to the highest standard. To act as the role model for present and future engineers and support team members To ensure all jobs are completed accurately on electronic system fully utilizing all existing & new technology. Generates optimum productivity from the team. Assist management at all levels to maximize team efficiency. Ensure team performance through the quality & timeliness of own task execution. Provide support & guidance for team members. Report to the management team at regular intervals to provide accurate feedback. Work alongside other principle sharing information at regular intervals and team meetings including the training department to give individual updates on new engineer progress. Qualifications: Essential certifications: F-GAS 2079 GSCE level education or equivalent Desirable: Electrical qualifications/certification Mechanical/Engineering certification Experience: A minimum of 3 years relevant experience within Refrigeration service and repair. Computer literate to an adequate standard Good verbal and written communication skills Basic Mathematics & English To work on own initiative/unsupervised The ability to coach and identify training needs. Desirable: A good UK geographical knowledge Track record of interacting and communication with customers at all levels. Additional local needs: Holds a full UK driving license (essential) To work at various locations if business needs dictate. Participate in a 24/7 service breakdown & call out Rota. To undertake tasks that may require time working away from home.
