The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy, as well as helping people into employment, supporting pensioners, and protecting vulnerable individuals. Counter Fraud Compliance and Debt’s (CFCD) aim is to reduce fraud, error, and debt within the benefit system to protect the public purse.

The CFCD CBRS Grade 7 (G7) leads the Directorate’s approach to ensuring compliance with Security, Data, and Information requirements. This role involves leading CFCD responses to briefings and departmental requests via the Briefing Hatch function, identifying and mitigating key risks, and maintaining effective controls to ensure CFCD’s security.
As a team leader, collaboration and close working with your team are essential aspects of this role.
The G7 leads the team to deliver core functions including:
* Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and mitigate CFCD risks, aligning with the DWP Risk Management Framework, and providing narrative input for the DWP Services and Fraud Risk Plan.
* Reporting on risks and mitigation activities to support decision-making by the Performance Risk and Deployment Board and the executive team.
* Integrating risk awareness into routine business activities.
* Working with fraud, error, and debt (FED) Policy and CFCD Functional areas to ensure timely and robust responses via the CFCD Briefing Hatch function.
* Developing and evolving the Briefing Hatch function to handle increasing FOI requests and briefing requirements.
* Ensuring compliance with security and information management policies, managing related risks, and creating improvement plans.
* Promoting Security, Data, and Information awareness to enhance compliance.
* Managing the CFCD Business Continuity Plan within the DWP framework.
* Coordinating across CFCD to establish and test Business Continuity Plans.
* Supporting access to small-scale portals and establishing new processes as needed.
* Assisting with the DWP ID Badging Process for colleagues requiring identification.
This role involves frequent travel and overnight stays due to the team’s dispersed locations.
