Job overview

We welcome applications from mental health nurses, clinical psychologists, social workers, CBT therapists, and other qualified professional staff for the role of senior practitioner within SET CAMHS Eating Disorder Service

SET CAMHS Eating Disorder service are looking to recruit 2 full time qualified professionals from nursing, social work, psychology, CBT psychotherapy to join the Eating Disorder service working across Essex. SET CAMHS Eating Disorder service offer evidence based treatment (FT-AN/CBT-E) working within iThrive model. We are seeking candidates with experience of working with Eating disorder, managing risk and managing a caseload of more complex presentations. The successful candidate will also have experience of supervising and supporting colleagues at band 6.


The Band 7 role sits within the Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) to take a lead on urgent and high-risk assessments, to support the team in formulating risk plans and to be able to provide a range of NICE recommended and evidence based treatments.


The role will support the senior leadership team in monitoring quality of
interventions and processes through effective supervision.

Main duties of the job

1. To complete assessments of children and young people’s to identify if there are eating disorder.
2. To complete risk and safety plans, care planning including CPA processes post discharge from Inpatient care.
3. To provide evidence based treatments individually (FT-AN/CBT-E) with a trauma informed approach.
4. To provide treatment and interventions for children and young people with additional neurodevelopmental needs and co-morbid mental health issues.
5. To provide supervision to band 6 staff

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office.

Locality Teams in CAMHS
The aim of our new CAMHS is to respond earlier to children and young people’s needs in order to help prevent, reduce or delay the need for more specialist interventions. This transformation of children and young people’s mental health services has a clinical focus, integrated with local authorities to deliver a long term collaborative approach to planning and delivering services.

The service is driven by the principles underpinning the national CYP-IAPT programme (Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies); evidence based interventions, routine measurement of outcomes, access to high quality training and supervision for professionals and co-production with children and young people

Qualification

Essential criteria

6. Qualificantion in a Core profession (Social Worker, Mental Health Nursing, Psychotherapy, Clinical Psychology)
7. To have registration as a full member of the appropriate professional body ( HCPC, NMC, UKCP, BABCP)
8. Experience in a relevant NHS setting or similar with Young people with mental health presentations.

Desirable criteria

9. 2- 3 years post qualifying experience
10. Must be able to travel across the Mid Essex area.

Experience

Essential criteria

11. Experience of working with complex and high risk mental health presentations in children and young people.
12. Experience of providing evidence based mental health interventions to children and young people including neurodiversity.
13. Experience of supervising staff providing mental health treatments to children and young people

Desirable criteria

14. Experience of providing specialist individual interventions with a wide variety of children and young people, from 3 to 19 years old- presenting problems at the most severe end of the spectrum
15. Experience of managing teams
