What you’ll be doing
as a Rail Access & Interface Lead
1. Make your impact where it matters most. In this role, you’ll be at the centre of complex rail interface delivery—bringing together stakeholders, securing critical access, and keeping projects moving safely and on schedule.
2. Lead rail relationships – Be the key contact for Network Rail and London Underground, driving clear, confident engagement and approvals
3. Own access planning – Secure possessions, plan, and keep programmes on track with proactive coordination
4. Set contractors up for success – Ensure teams are prepared, compliant, and ready to deliver in a live rail environment
5. Drive compliance & quality – Oversee accurate submissions, approvals, and safe systems of work
6. Manage risk & keep momentum – Spot challenges early, reduce delays, and align rail access with programme milestones
7. Communicate with impact – Lead meetings, provide clear updates, and keep all stakeholders informed

This role is based at Maple Lodge Sewage Treatment Works, with a hybrid working approach. You’ll be expected on-site 2-3 days per week, with additional attendance as required to support business needs.
The role is 36 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday.
What you should bring to the role
9. Strong experience working with Network Rail and/or London Underground access processes.
10. Proven experience coordinating rail possessions and access permissions.
11. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with multiple stakeholders.
12. Experience working with contractors and ensuring compliance with rail requirements.
13. Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
14. A good working knowledge of NR/L2/CIV/096 Asset Protection and Optimisation Management of Outside Party Works.
Desirable
15. Experience within infrastructure, utilities or rail.
16. Knowledge of ASPRO processes and rail documentation requirements.
17. Familiarity with rail safety roles (PTS, COSS, SWL).
