Sweco Edinburgh, Scotland – Europe’s leading design, engineering, environment and regulatory consultancy. We are now seeking applicants for the November 2026 cohort of our Early Careers Graduate Scheme. Uniquely, we recruit to role – and right now we’re looking for Graduate Engineer (Development Infrastructure) to join our Transport and Urbanisation division in Edinburgh. We would like to hear from graduates that share our ethos, values and are driven to truly transform the world around them.
Responsibilities
* Support development teams by assisting with the provision of a multi-disciplinary consultancy service for Sweco’s developer clients.
* Work on Civil Infrastructure engineering projects including development schemes (designing highways, SuDS, levels, earthworks, etc), land regeneration and remediation engineering (ground models, geotechnical and geology etc.) and assist the wider engineering team.
* Work in a supervised environment on site and in the office ensuring that the technical content of work is acceptable and prepared in agreed timescales.
* Deliver projects as part of a team, reporting to the appropriate team leader or project manager.
* Collaborate with teams in other disciplines.
* Understand and comply with Sweco’s Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and current Health & Safety legislation.
Expected
* Be capable of working on initiative with appropriate supervision.
* Be proactive, solution‑oriented and confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
* Be able to work in the UK without restrictions now or in the future.

Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering accredited by the UK Engineering Council with eligibility for at least Incorporated Engineer status.
* Less than 12 months of relevant work experience (excluding placements).
* Confidence using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
* Driven, proactive, and solution‑oriented.
* Can work in the UK without restrictions either now or in the future.
