Role Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum for Year 2 pupils Assess and monitor pupils’ progress regularly, adapting teaching to meet individual needs Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages engagement and curiosity Promote positive behaviour, routines, and independence Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders to ensure consistency and high expectations Communicate effectively with parents and carers, sharing progress and achievements Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives Support pupils’ transition from Year 2 to Key Stage 2 This role offers a chance to make a meaningful impact during a key stage where children consolidate foundational skills and build confidence in their learning. Who We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will be: A qualified teacher with QTS Experienced in teaching Year 2 or Key Stage 1, with strong knowledge of literacy, numeracy, and the wider curriculum Confident in differentiating learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and higher-attaining learners Creative, reflective, and able to plan engaging lessons that inspire curiosity Collaborative and able to contribute positively to the staff team Committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting pupil wellbeing Enthusiastic about fostering resilience, independence, and confidence in children Early Career Teachers who demonstrate passion and commitment are encouraged to apply, with mentoring and support available to ensure success in the role.
