Location: Samlesbury (Full-time on site)
Salary: £54,793 + depending on skills and experience
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Product Safety Team Leader, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the safety of the F-35 platform. Your role will involve:
* Leading a dynamic team to execute F-35 System Safety activities across all BAE Systems Contracts, including Airframe, Vehicle System, Weapons Integration, and Sustainment.
* Developing, maintaining, and updating crucial safety documentation such as Hazard Assessment Summary Reports and Safety Justification Reports.
* Conducting safety assessments for new and emerging safety issues within BAES design responsibilities.
* Providing expert guidance to Engineering teams on evaluating qualification and verification evidence from a safety perspective.
* Coaching junior members on maintaining hazards in the F-35 Hazard Log and supporting Safety Working Group activities.
Your Skills and Experiences:
Essential:
* Proven experience in authoring and approving safety documentation or technical reports, with a solid understanding of Safety Management Plans.
* Background in an aircraft systems safety role or support engineering safety role.
* Professionally registered (IEng / CEng) or actively working towards it.
* Demonstrable knowledge of the system/software engineering lifecycle.
* Understanding of relevant engineering standards.
Desirable:
* Engineering degree or equivalent experience in aircraft systems or support systems engineering.

The Product Integrity Team:
You will lead a team of Safety Engineers dedicated to managing routine and urgent safety issues across the F-35 platform. Your leadership will be crucial in identifying, assessing, and addressing risks efficiently and effectively.
