Job Overview

As a large teaching Trust, we value training doctors, nurses, and other health professionals, working closely with local universities and Kings College, University of London. We now have an exciting opportunity to work with Kent and Medway's new Medical School, jointly provided by the University of Kent and Canterbury Christchurch University, opened in September 2020.

The Gastroenterology service seeks candidates interested in developing specialist GI services such as upper GI, Barrett's, pH monitoring / manometry, EUS, complex polypectomy, and expanding the ERCP service in East Kent. Candidates with other specialist interests are encouraged to apply. Multiple posts are available to support the implementation of a seven-day gastroenterology and endoscopic service.
The team provides ward cover on acute sites, supports the Emergency floor with specialist care, and conducts daily board and ward rounds on the GI/hepatology ward supporting SAFER. The team is supported by specialist registrars, SHOs, and FY1 doctors.
The post involves outpatient clinics, general endoscopy lists, and a dedicated session for a specialist interest. Expertise in ERCP is welcomed; one weekly session will be dedicated to this for suitable candidates. Some clinical commitments may be on other sites within the Trust.
