We are a very well established, independently run Italian restaurant in a prominent position on the busiest road through Crewe. We have a loyal following and a good reputation; we are proud of the quality we deliver - rooted in traditional Italian cookery with room for modern flair.
As we continue to grow and evolve, we are looking for a Sous Chef to join our small team. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented chef with a creative edge who is looking to step into a role that allows real input with the menu and help pave the way forward in the kitchen.
The Role:
As Sous Chef, you'll work closely with the Head Chef to oversee daily kitchen operations, maintain high standards and help develop new ideas. You'll play a vital role in managing a smooth service, mentoring junior staff and ensuring every plate matches our commitment to quality and authenticity.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management
* Help design and implement new menu items and seasonal specials
* Ensure consistent quality and presentation across all dishes
* Maintain kitchen hygiene, food safety standards and stock control
* Train and motivate junior kitchen team members
* Step up to lead service in the absence of the Head Chef
What We Are Looking For:
* Minimum of 5 years experience working in a commercial kitchen
* A strong understanding of basic Italian cookery and ingredients
* A creative approach to food and menu development
* Excellent kitchen management and communication skills
* Calm under pressure and highly organised
* A team player who values collaboration and consistency
