NXA Talent are delighted to be partnering with a national haulier for a key planning hire with strategic transport experience to help plan their national network.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan efficient routes and driver schedules using TMS to optimise national haulage network
* Tailoring daily transport plan to regional need and operational variances
* Observe and monitor adherence to UK/EU rules on driver working hours, breaks, and tachograph usage.
* Utilise network resource as needed across the network
* Record issues across the operation and flag to appropriate senior leadership
* Utilise subcontractors and other external resource as necessary
* Manage relationships with permanent and agency drivers
Skillset
* Strong decision-making and commercial judgment in time-sensitive, peak-demand environments
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with planning systems/TMS
* Familiar with industry legislation (VOSA)
* Experience in transport planning is necessary with a background in general haulage being highly advantageous
* Commercial approach to transport planning is an advantage
