The role
As the new Head of Family Finance, you will:
* Provide inspiring leadership to lead a high‑performing team of Associates, Solicitors and a Trainee.
* Act as a visible, respected strategic leader within the wider family department.
* Oversee complex family finance matters, offering guidance, supervision and technical excellence.
* Drive business development initiatives, raise the team’s profile and attract high‑quality work.
* Play a central role in departmental strategy, financial performance and operational decision‑making.
* Ensure the team continues to thrive under a supportive, collaborative and forward‑thinking culture.
This role is based primarily in their East London office, with occasional work from their office in SW London. The team currently comprises six talented lawyers who are ready for a confident, inspiring Head of Family Finance to guide their next chapter.

* Minimum 10 years’ experience in family finance law.
* Proven experience as a strategic leader with a track record of developing teams.
* Strong technical expertise across all areas of family finance and private children law.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a high‑performing team with empathy and clarity.
* Commercial awareness, financial acumen and experience driving departmental performance.
* A collaborative, inclusive leadership style aligned with the firm’s values.
* Ideally, existing connections to East End client bases.
