We’re partnering with an ambitious, acquisitive manufacturing business entering an exciting new phase of growth following the acquisition of a c.£20m turnover operation in the UK based near Sunderland.
This is a high-impact leadership role for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys operating close to the business, driving performance, and building scalable financial processes in a fast-paced environment.
Regular travel to the new site in Sunderland required in the short/medium term.
The Role
As Head of Finance, you’ll take ownership of the UK finance function while partnering closely with senior leadership to support integration, operational improvement, and long‑term growth plans.
This role combines hands‑on financial leadership with commercial insight and operational influence, making it ideal for someone who thrives in evolving, growth‑focused businesses.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the UK finance function, ensuring strong financial control and reporting
* Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
* Support the integration and optimisation of a recently acquired manufacturing business
* Deliver meaningful commercial insight to support operational and strategic decision-making
* Improve financial processes, reporting, and controls across the business
* Partner with operational teams to drive margin improvement and performance visibility
* Manage audits, statutory reporting, and tax compliance
* Support senior leadership with strategic planning and growth initiatives
* Build scalable finance processes and reporting infrastructure for future expansion
About You
* Be able to travel to Sunderland (2-3 days per week with travel and hotels expensed)
* Strong finance leadership experience within manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or product‑led environments
* Commercially minded with a hands‑on approach
* Experience supporting growth, transformation, integration, or process improvement initiatives
* Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills
* Comfortable operating within a fast‑paced and evolving business
