Do you want an exciting opportunity to gain hands on experience in chocolate product development?
If so, we are looking for an enthusiastic Product Development Assistant to help create exciting new products as we expand the Montezuma's brand.
What you will be doing:
* Assist in the NPD kitchen creating development recipes
* Create samples from given recipes
* Create samples for our Trade customers of new products in the NPD pipeline
* Pack and accurately label samples
* Assist with the smooth running of NPD kitchen, including good hygiene, ingredients logging and allergen best practices
* Assist with production documentation, specifications and bills of materials
* Help develop new ways to taste new products and log data
* Be present at Factory trial and log results
* Assist in the sharing of information with the Sales, Production and Technical teams.
What you will need:
* Good attention to detail
* Solution based mindset when challenges occur
* Able to articulate how you perceive flavours/textures and why you think something is successful or doesn't work
* Ability to temper chocolate using a seeding method
* Able to accurately follow a recipe
* Ability to work independently
* Confident mathematically with scaling recipes, percentages and converting between different units ie. grammes to kilogrammes
* Knowledge of Microsoft office specifically Excel
* Catering qualification or experience in a commercial kitchen
* Maths and English GCSE Grade C / Grade 4 or above
This role in based onsite at our Birdham Head Office (just outside Chichester), 5 days per week (40 hours per week). The hours of work are 8.30am - 5.00pm.
