We’re looking for an Intermediate Lighting Designer to join our architectural lighting design office in London. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a wide range of projects, from concept to completion, in a practice known for creativity, innovation and excellence in design.
As an Intermediate Designer, you’ll bring enthusiasm, design flair, and initiative to every project. You’ll play a key role within the team, balancing creative input with technical knowledge and growing commercial awareness.
Working under the guidance of senior staff and project leaders, you’ll take on multiple responsibilities with a high degree of autonomy, while also helping to manage and mentor junior colleagues.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Collaborating on the design and delivery of architectural lighting projects across various sectors.
* Taking ownership of key project tasks and packages, contributing to creative design development and technical execution.
* Producing high-quality presentations, drawings, visualisations, and specifications.
* Using your initiative to problem-solve and adapt to changing project demands.
* Managing time effectively and delivering work to deadlines and high standards.
* Building strong relationships with clients and collaborators; attending meetings and taking an active role in project communication.
* Supporting the day-to-day operation of the studio, including occasional administrative or non-project tasks.
What we’re looking for:
* Proven experience working within a lighting design practice.
* Proficiency in relevant software, including but not limited to AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Dialux.
* An understanding of the design and construction process, with awareness of commercial project requirements.
* A proactive, flexible attitude with a collaborative mindset.
* Excellent communication skills – visual, verbal and written.
Salary commensurate with experience.
