Accounts Assistant (12 Month FTC)
Location: Ipswich
Salary: £28,000
SRM has partnered with a nationwide business to hire an Accounts Assistant on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this is a varied role involving purchase ledger tasks and supporting subcontractor accounts. You will play a key part in ensuring smooth financial operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Processing purchase invoices and obtaining payment approvals
2. Completing supplier statement reconciliations
3. Preparing monthly payment runs
4. Verifying new subcontractors and managing CIS returns
5. Handling supplier queries via phone and email
6. Assisting the Finance Manager with general accounting duties
What we’re looking for:
* Experience in purchase ledger
* Studying towards or holding a relevant accounting qualification is a plus
* Construction industry experience, ideally CIS
* Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
* A methodical approach and ability to work under pressure
