Join to apply for the SEN / SEND Tutor, Essex role at Targeted Provision.
Core subject tutoring (Maths, English, or Science) for young people with SEN/SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs in Essex. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet a wide variety of needs. We support children and young people with SEN/SEND, including MLD and SLD, and we are seeking tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the educational journey of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners.
At Targeted Provision our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. You will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists.
This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who enjoy 1:1 tutoring with a variety of learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed approach.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role
* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Support is delivered via flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
Tasks and responsibilities
* Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
* Deliver holistic and engaging sessions aligned to the young person’s needs and progress
* Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress
Requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years of teaching experience
* Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
* safeguarding knowledge and experience
* Enhanced DBS (we can help obtain this at cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* Based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, including for remote/online assignments
It is a strict requirement that you promote the health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and follow safeguarding policies at all times.
Employment status
* This position involves engaging with us as a Worker to provide short-term engagements as they arise
* You will work through a contract for service and be paid via PAYE
* We do not offer a fixed amount of work or expenses coverage
* Our insurance covers the work you do for us
* This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
