Overview of the role
The Team Leader provides support and guidance to a team of social care workers, ensuring the highest level of care and leading by example. You will liaise with the Assistant Team Leader(s) and report any matters of concern. Experience in the care sector and a willingness to learn and expand your knowledge are required. The role allows you to make a significant difference to people’s lives and enjoy activities, trips and other events.
All Team Leaders must either already possess or commit to obtaining a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care. You will also participate in the on‑call response for the service.
Key duties
* Providing leadership and support for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a residential care environment
* Supervising a team and assisting with overall service management
* Liaising with managers and other shift leaders
* Executing tasks allocated in a professional, timely and accurate manner
* Supervising and sharing mealtimes to encourage a positive attitude towards food and dining
* Assisting care recipients in daily activities, both within and away from the service
* Using initiative when supporting care recipients during activities and day‑to‑day tasks

Where will you work?
Derwent View, one of three residential homes operated by Quality Care in the East Midlands, supports 19 adults in a family‑style setting. The property is divided into three self‑contained homes and is located in the Derwent area of the City of Derby.
