Role Description
To be responsible for the proactive process management of a portfolio of trade mark cases providing a high level of paralegal support to the allocated fee earner(s) ensuring adherence to all deadlines and actively supporting the fee earner in ensuring cases are in order at all times, actioned appropriately and on time. Assume responsibility for ensuring that routine tasks, emails and letters are completed without prompting by the fee earner, as appropriate and that actions required to be completed by the fee earner are routinely flagged and reminded until completed. To take direction from the fee earner on other activities as appropriate.
Qualifications
* Ideally holds a degree
* Possession of or studying towards CITMA Trade Mark Paralegal examination
* Possess a comprehensive understanding of the end to end IP process- filing, prosecution and the registration of Trade Marks, and all actions associated with each stage of the process.
* Up to date knowledge of all relevant laws and law updates.
* Up to date with CPD requirements as appropriate
* Good IT skills to include excellent and accurate typing skills and experience of using Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and Outlook and a possess a basic overview of Powerpoint.
* A thorough working knowledge of filing and managing correspondence through the UK, EUIPO and WIPO websites.
* Fully conversant with Inprotech and Worksite.
* Possesses an appreciation of the firm’s client account
* Awareness of UCDs, WIP and the requirement to charge out.
* Awareness of records and renewals processes
