Our client is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to spearhead growth from their Warrington base. This is a high-visibility role focused on identifying high-value opportunities, nurturing long-term strategic partnerships, and managing the full lifecycle of the tender process, from initial enquiry to final proposal presentation.
The Role
In this position, you will act as a key ambassador for the business, engaging with senior stakeholders and representing the company at major industry events. You will work at the intersection of strategy and execution, ensuring all development activity aligns with the company’s 2026 growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Market Growth: Identify and evaluate new market opportunities and contribute to the implementation of long-term business development strategies.
* Relationship Management: Cultivate new client relationships while maintaining senior-level contact with current partners and project stakeholders.
* Tender Leadership: Support the tender process from receipt of ITT through to submission, including signing off PQQs and attending post-tender interviews.
* Client Engagement: Visit live project sites to monitor performance and client satisfaction, delivering professional presentations to prospective clients.
* Strategic Reporting: Collate market and competitor intelligence and prepare monthly progress reports for the Board of Directors.
* Internal Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing and wider BD teams to ensure all materials and messaging reflect the core values and goals of the business.
What We’re Looking For
* Industry Expertise: Proven experience within the Engineering or Electrical Construction sectors is essential.
* Commercial Acumen: A strong ability to assess and manage risks across potential business opportunities.
* Communication: A confident presenter with the ability to engage, influence, and negotiate at a senior executive level.
* Strategic Mindset: Experience in analysing market trends and competitor activity to stay ahead of the curve.
* Presence: Comfortable representing the business at industry functions, networking events, and on-site visits.
