Were looking for a highly skilled CNC Engineer to support internal innovation projects and prototype development within a cutting-edge electric motor and drive systems environment. Based in Norfolk, this is a permanent role suited to someone with strong CNC programming, machining, and inspection skills who thrives in a fast-paced, high-precision setting.
Key Responsibilities
Program, set and operate 3 & 4 axis CNC machinery (Conversational and G-code) to produce precision components.
Support prototype development by collaborating closely with engineers and project teams.
Perform First Article Inspections and support continuous improvement through 5S/7S methodology.
Use CNC mill-turn, VMC and manual engineering equipment to meet rapid turnaround needs.
Provide feedback on design feasibility and suggest changes for manufacturability.
Maintain a safe and efficient workshop environment, including TPM and inspection routines.
About You
Proven CNC programming and machining experience with a strong grasp of tooling and materials.
Confident reading 2D drawings and 3D models, with the ability to meet tight tolerances.
Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving ability and a proactive, can-do attitude.
Familiarity with CAD/CAM, NPI processes and First Article Inspection techniques.
HNC/HND, technical apprenticeship, or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
Strong communication skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
