Learning Support Assistant
Location: School is based in Langham Colchester
Salary: £83.33 - £120 per day

A nurturing, inclusive school in Colchester, specializing in supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support, helping students engage with learning activities and achieve their personal and academic targets.
2. Assist teachers in creating an inclusive, therapeutic, and supportive classroom environment.
3. Support students with emotional regulation, social development, and behavior management, promoting self-esteem and resilience.
4. Implement strategies to support a wide range of learning, emotional, and behavioral needs.
5. Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate with staff to ensure each child's development is nurtured.
6. Help maintain a calm, structured, and positive atmosphere that fosters academic progress and emotional well-being.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar support role is desirable, especially with SEMH or SEN students.
2. A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with children who may exhibit challenging behaviors.
3. Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
4. An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
5. A passion for making a positive, lasting difference in children's lives.
