We are recruiting for an experienced Extrusion Manager to join an industry leader who manufacture premium windows and doors at their Gloucester factory.
JOB SUMMARY
Provide technical leadership within the cell, drive continual improvement and make recommendations on process enhancements.
In conjunction with the Head of Manufacturing, the Extrusion Manager will be expected to identify, optimise and deliver the training for team members including regular gap analysis.
The Extrusion Manager is responsible for assisting the business in all aspects including Quality, delivery, cost, safety, resource, and environment.
The Extrusion Manager is responsible for leading and managing their team and recruiting where necessary.
The Extrusion Manager is responsible for ensuring all manufacturing activities are carried out in a safe and controlled manner, ensuring quality standards are maintained.
The Extrusion Manager is responsible for setting an example to their team in keeping with the company’s vision and values.
The Extrusion Manager is responsible for driving daily, weekly, and monthly KPI activity.
Responsibilities
* Oversee daily operations of Extrusion, ensuring production schedules and quality standards are met.
* Ensure all staff are working safely and effectively.
* Be responsible for ensuring all machines are running efficiently to maintain line speeds and adherence to plan KPI’s.
* Analyse production data to identify trends, reduce scrap, and improve throughput.
* Ensure all production paperwork is completed and reviewed to support audit requirements.
* Ensure all MES and real time production monitoring and interaction is completed by all production members
* Support continuous improvement projects within the Operational cells.
* Identify and recommend training requirements for Extrusion Team and ensure that all training is current and completed on time.
* Ensuring high levels of housekeeping are maintained including daily walk-through checks.
* Report any damage or dangerous occurrences in a timely fashion via the correct channels.
* Liaise with the transport department on delivery needs for Extrusion.
* Update all relevant paperwork, software, and information boards.
* Carry out Performance Reviews for all team members, RTW, PDRs, and 3/6-month reviews.
* Any other duties deemed suitable by the business.
Qualifications and Experience
* A minimum of 4 years of experience working in a fast-paced Production environment.
* ILM Level 3 management qualification or equivalent (desirable).
* Able to demonstrate change management experience.
* Able to demonstrate an understanding of lean culture and mentality.
* Health & Safety Qualifications, IOSH preferably
* Excellent Communication Skills and experience
* A good understanding and ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint
