Overview
This is a pivotal role at HPFT that involves overseeing the development of data models to support operations and decision-making. The Senior Data Analyst will have advanced SQL skills to manage complex data queries, support other team members in SQL proficiency, and design and implement robust data models and data sets. The role aims to ensure data integrity and accessibility across departments, optimise data workflows, and enhance data-driven strategies within HPFT. It also requires collaboration with clinical and administrative staff to translate data insights into actionable recommendations and to build solutions aligned with NHS standards and regulations, fostering a data-informed culture to improve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Development of data models to support HPFTs operations and data-led decision-making
* Support the design and implementation of robust data models and data sets, ensuring data integrity and accessibility across various departments
* Manage complex data queries using advanced SQL skills and support other team members in SQL proficiency
* Collaborate closely with clinical and administrative staff to understand their data needs and provide tailored solutions
* Translate data insights into actionable recommendations to support the continuous improvement of HPFTs services
* Support the optimisation of data workflows and enhance data-driven strategies within the organisation
* Communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively
* Maintain compliance with the Trust's Anti-Discriminatory Statement, Employee Charter, Trust Policies and Procedures, Code of Conduct, and Equality and Diversity
* Foster a data-informed culture within HPFT, driving efficiency and improving outcomes for service users and carers
Communications
The Senior Data Analyst is required to engage in formal and informal communication with a range of stakeholders, including clinical and administrative staff, performance and analytics teams, data warehouse and integration teams, and service leads across the Trust. The role involves discussing data needs, providing tailored solutions, and translating data insights into actionable recommendations, while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to relevant UK data protection laws. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for preparing detailed reports, presentations, and data visualisations, and for participating in meetings to ensure alignment with the Trust\'s objectives. The role supports a data-informed culture within HPFT.

Skills / Knowledge / Ability
* Advanced SQL skills, including the ability to manage complex data queries
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Qualifications / Education / Training
* Evidence of education and/or training in data analytics or information management concepts
* Advanced SQL certification or equivalent experience
Previous Experience
* Experience in building and managing data sets using SQL
* Experience in supporting or mentoring team members in technical tasks
