Development Engineering Technician

We are working with an engineering business based in Norwich that is looking to recruit a Development Engineering Technician to support its growing Research & Development department.
This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, hands-on technician to join a multi-disciplinary engineering team working on prototype systems, technology development and system capability improvements. You'll play a key role in supporting projects from initial design through to test and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Build, assemble and maintain electrical, mechanical and electronic prototypes
Assist with the design and development of prototype test equipment
Conduct fault-finding and snagging activities to support engineering improvements
Follow engineering drawings and specifications accurately
Take ownership of delegated tasks and provide regular progress updates
Work to strict timescales and support lab organisation and maintenance
Contribute to documentation including specifications, reports and test dataRequirements:
Qualified to HNC/Degree level or equivalent in Engineering or a relevant discipline
Alternatively, a recognised apprenticeship with hands-on engineering experience
Competence in mechanical fitting, wiring and cable assembly, PCB assembly and electrical fault finding
Good communication and teamwork skills
Proactive approach to problem-solving
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Full UK driving licence and valid passportDesirable:
18th Edition Electrical Installation qualification
Forklift Truck licence
CAD experience
You will be working 37.5 per week. Monday to Thursday 08:15-17:00, Friday 08:15-12:45.
