Kitchen Porter / Wash up
Location: Cloisters Kitchen & Garden, Chichester Cathedral, PO19 1PX
Salary: £12.21 per hour (NMW DOE)
Days of work: Shift options vary. Fixed dates per week can be agreed.
Hours: 8am – 5 pm

The role
Assists the Head Chef and kitchen team by maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and order in kitchen and back of house areas. Ensure a 'positive', 'can do' attitude.
Key responsibilities
* Wash crockery and utensils by hand and using the dishwasher.
* Daily clean of kitchen areas.
* Deep clean of kitchen equipment.
* Keep stores areas neat and tidy.
* Assist with basic preparation of food where necessary under guidance of your Line Manager ensuring all Food hygiene and H&S procedures are adhered to.
* Keep refrigeration and freezers organized.
* Report failing equipment to Supervisor.
* Report Health and Safety hazards to Supervisor or Catering Manager.
* Communicate effectively with staff.
* Contribute to stock taking as required.
* Provide porter support with deliveries.
* Provide porter support where necessary.
* Accept training to enable safe completion of duties.
* ·Carry out other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.
