Bristol City Council are seeking a skilled and proactive Disrepair Surveyor to join their Repairs & Maintenance team.
Location: Bristol
Set-up: Hybrid
Rate: £298/day via umbrella inside IR35
Duration: Initially 3 months
Hours: Full-time position
Responsibilities include:
1. Ensure all legal claims within Repairs and Maintenance are successfully investigated and completed with minimal litigation, addressing tenants' expectations regarding property conditions
2. Conduct thorough inspections, coordinate and oversee necessary repairs including monitoring the work of the trade teams and contractors, from start to completion, ensuring delivery of high quality work
3. Ensure clear communication with tenants, provide them with a detailed report to each case, achieveing high customer satisfaction
Requirements:
4. Proven experience in building surveying, property inspections, and defect diagnosis within a housing or maintenance environment
5. Strong knowledge of housing disrepair legislation, legal claims processes, and dispute resolution
6. Track record of managing projects, contractors, and budgets while delivering high-quality outcomes
7. Skilled in producing technical reports, specifications, and schedules, with excellent written and verbal communication
8. Competent in using housing management or case management IT systems iCasework) and handling sensitive customer data securely
