SENDCo Teacher Opportunity - Leading Secondary School in Essex
We are delighted to partner with a progressive secondary school in Essex, committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment for all students. We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated SENDCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to join their team in a full-time, permanent position starting this September.
Position Summary
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing the school's SEND provision, ensuring that students with diverse learning needs receive the support and guidance necessary to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the school's SEND team, providing strategic direction and operational oversight.
* Develop and implement comprehensive SEND policies and procedures in line with current legislation and best practices.
* Oversee the identification, assessment, and provision of support for students with SEN.
* Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure effective communication and coordination of support.
* Champion inclusive practices throughout the school, promoting a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
* National Award for SEN Coordination or willingness to work towards it.
* Proven experience in a SEND leadership role or extensive experience supporting students with special educational needs.
* In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation and current best practices.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
