Job Title: Senior Healthcare Assistant
Reports To: Care Home Manager / Deputy Manager
Location: Stapleford View Care Home
Role Purpose
The Senior Healthcare Assistant (Senior HCA) plays a key role in providing high-quality, person-centred care to residents, while supporting and leading care teams on shift. The role involves supervising staff, ensuring care plans are followed, maintaining high standards of dignity and safety, and acting as a point of contact for residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver compassionate, safe, and person-centred care to residents in line with individual care plans.
* Support with daily living activities including personal care, mobility, eating, and emotional wellbeing.
* Administer medication safely (following appropriate training and in accordance with policy).
* Supervise, mentor, and support Healthcare Assistants on shift.
* Assist the nurse or manager in monitoring residents' health, reporting changes, and escalating concerns.
* Maintain accurate and timely records including care notes, handovers, and incident reports.
* Promote independence, dignity, and choice for all residents.
* Support with admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
* Ensure compliance with CQC standards, safeguarding, and health & safety requirements.
* Act as a role model for best practice in care delivery and communication.

Qualifications & Experience
* NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards).
* Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, preferably in a care home or similar environment.
* Experience supervising or mentoring others.
* Medication administration training (desirable).

Pay: £13.21 per hour
Expected hours: 44 per week
