Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Nursing)
We are seeking an enthusiastic Specialist Practitioner (School Nursing) to join the Chesil 0-19 CYP Public Health Team in Weymouth and Portland. The position supports the Healthy Child Programme and targeted interventions for children aged 5 to 19 and their families.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and participate in the School Nursing core programme under the Healthy Child Programme.
* Work in partnership with children, young people and families, the Local Authority, Early Intervention Services, Children’s Services, schools and other health‑care providers.
* Collaborate closely with pan‑Dorset 0‑19 CYP Public Health Teams to provide services in response to identified needs.
* Support the delivery of the ChatHealth texting service, safeguarding, and School Nursing Requests for Support.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Registered Specialist Community Public Health Practitioner (School Nursing) degree or diploma level.
* Demonstrated specialist clinical reasoning skills to assimilate information and make clinical judgements regarding diagnosis and intervention.
* Recent experience in a comparable role is required.
* Candidates requiring current Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are not eligible to apply.
Working Hours and Conditions
Permanent post of 30 hours per week, year‑round.
