The Operational Delivery Network Manager provides managerial leadership to Children and Young Peoples (CYP) networks designated as ODNs. The ODN Manager will lead a team and promote partnership working across constituent organisations to deliver agreed annual priorities. The post holder will oversee the following networks: Children's Cancer, Teenage and Young Adult Cancer and Paediatric Neurosciences.
Responsibilities
* Communicate and provide highly complex information to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders (verbal, written and numerical) and present highly complex information about projects, initiatives, and services to a wide range of stakeholders in a formal setting.
* Deliver effective clinical flows through the system via collaboration with networked services.
* Take a whole system collaborative approach to service provision, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of sustainable services across the patient pathway and adding value for all stakeholders.
* Improve cross‑organisational multi‑professional clinical engagement to improve pathways of care.
* Focus on quality and effectiveness through facilitation of comparative benchmarking and audit of services with implementation of required improvements.
* Deputise for the Head of CYP ODNs as required.
* Support the identification of best practice to support service improvement.
* Operate in a highly political and sensitive environment.
* Support the portfolio of programmes/projects in demonstrating value for money, tracking, managing and delivering agreed benefits.
* Provide advice and prepare reports/briefings for directors and stakeholders.
* In‑depth analysis, interpretation and production of complex and multiple reports.
* Ensure the annual review of the regional surge plan is completed, reflecting the current challenges to providing PCC capacity.
* Stay up to date with national developments, initiatives, priorities and projects; disseminate news and information throughout the ODN, highlighting areas where clinical networking can improve patient care and provide value for money for NHS England.
* Attend and engage with the PCCS representing the PCC ODN.
* Participate in national and international events to share best practice and update knowledge of key areas of healthcare developments.
* Contribute to the TVW CYP ODN annual report, providing statistics, key performance indicators, service and practice developments in collaboration with the network manager and data analyst.
* Ensure that the network activities support the delivery of equitable, quality service provision for all patients.
* Work with clinical leads to establish a benchmarking process for clinical outcome measures as outlined in the NHS England National Service Specifications.
* Be responsible for the day‑to‑day range of staff management matters, including appraisals, staff development, recruitment and employee relations.
Qualifications
* Master's degree.

* Continuing professional development and operational experience.

* Appreciation of the relationship between the Department of Health, NHS England and individual provider and commissioning organisations.
* Adaptable approach.
* Skilled in identifying relevant information from healthcare policy documents and ensuring briefed on them.
* Demonstrable ability in the production of successful service proposals and business cases.
* Ability to hold the confidence of senior managers and clinicians as a highly credible manager.
