We are thrilled to announce a major contract win with Yorkshire Water, supporting them in proactively and reactively maintaining their Wastewater Network for the next five years and beyond. This is a fantastic opportunity to start a rewarding career with Lanes Group.
Location: Bradford, Yorkshire. Hours: 50 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 7am-5pm with a paid lunch). Overtime available at time and a half. Salary: To be discussed.
Responsibilities
* Carry out groundwork tasks such as digging trenches, laying pipes, spot repairs and preparing surfaces for construction.
* Install and maintain over-pumping systems and maintain safe excavations with installation of ground support.
* Update and complete site documentation using an electronic tablet.
* Operate machinery and tools safely and efficiently to assist with various tasks.
* Perform daily vehicle checks and maintenance to ensure roadworthiness.
* Ensure all works are carried out in line with approved method statements, safe systems of work, and health and safety regulations; report any issues.
* Maintain equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
* Wear and maintain Personal Protective Equipment provided for protection at all times.
* Ensure on- and off-site activities comply with highways permits to avoid penalties.
* Read and understand drainage plans.
* Record photographic evidence of jobs performed and completed.
Experience and Qualifications
* Full UK driving license (Required).
* Civils background ideally from Utilities.
* Training will be provided; the ideal candidate will come with a number of tickets.
Tickets may include: NPORS, Banksman, Manual Handling, Emergency First Aid, NRSWA, EUSR National Water Hygiene, Asbestos Awareness, CPC Driver Training (HGV where applicable), Slinger and Signaller, Abrasive Wheels, EUSR Safe Dig or Cat & Genny, EUSR Water SHEA, Face Fit Testing, Dumper Wheeled Forward Tipping, EUSR Shuttering & Shoring, Excavator operations, NRSWA – Operative Units, Confined Spaces, SSSTS or SMSTS, and related qualifications.
