ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS In the absence of the Assistant Director of Events, assume overall responsibility for the Events Department Assist the Assistant Director of Events in weekly revenue forecast, and assist in the preparation of the annual budget & sales & marketing plan. Attend the weekly Revenue Meeting in the absence of the Event Manager Monitor billing process & package allowances in Opera Manage the departmental rota and assist with monitoring lieu & holiday Monitor a share of the events and strategize workload for each department member Support daily, weekly and monthly team briefings Create a harmonious and engaged working environment Work closely with the Events and Group Sales Team in negotiating for business, including hotel site inspections and the entertainment of clients, travel agents etc. Be responsible for the communication of all Event and Group activity to the front line team, through the distribution of timely and detailed Banqueting Event Orders, memo's, group summaries Support the relevant departments for all requirements of the guest arrival, stay and departure. Actively promote and up-sell the services and facilities available to guests within the hotel, promoting profitable revenue from other outlets (e.g. restaurants, spa, polo, valet etc) Develop and manage complex event and group projects, including marquee functions Handle events specific guest complaints, resolve challenges and ensure guest engagement Managing regular accounts proactively, while working closely with sales to increase revenue streams from existing clients To ensure that all site inspections are carried out in line with company standards and that follow up is actioned in line with DC sales guidelines Maintain good knowledge of rooms and events space occupancy, and observe efficient diary management practises in order to maximise revenues Understand all local competitors and conduct regular competitor analysis to understand the current market Flexibility Along with your main duties you may be asked to complete other tasks and duties as and when necessary and reasonably required You may be required to adjust your hours of work to cover the business needs. Must be prepared for unexpected work schedule changes QUAIFICATIONS & DESIRABLES Position specification Essentials Desirables Education/qualification Hospitality degree Experience Hotel experience Groups and Weddings experience 5 star experience Knowledge Highly computer literate.
