Overview
Senior Rotational Physiotherapist – Band 6. Based at Newham University Hospital, the role involves working across the Newham Hospital site in a range of ward settings and departments including Stroke, Accident and Emergency, Acute Assessment Unit, Medical wards, Amputee/Surgical, Intensive Treatment Unit (ITU), Health Care of the Elderly, Elective Orthopaedics and MSK.
Responsibilities
* Provide high quality physiotherapy interventions to a wide variety of patients, including advanced assessment and treatment in ward environments, provision of individual and group education, rehabilitation, support for patient flow throughout the hospital, and advocacy for patients and families as needed.
* Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver best practice and contribute to service improvement.
Qualifications
* Essential
* Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
* Member of the Health Care Professions Council
* Current UK professional registration
* Desirable
* Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
Experience
* Essential
* Relevant post-registration experience as a Physiotherapist
* Post-registration experience in clinical settings such as Respiratory, Neurology, Surgery, MSK
* Documented evidence of CPD
* Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* Experience of audit or research
* Experience of sole working as part of an emergency out-of-hours service
* Relevant NHS or similar experience
* Desirable
* Member of a specific interest group
* Committee membership (e.g., Risk Management)
* Experience in advising, training and supporting junior staff, assistants and students
Knowledge & Skills
* Essential
* Detailed knowledge of risk management and clinical governance
* Understanding of legal responsibilities and professional ethics
* Broader knowledge of current best practice in physiotherapy in acute, community and rehab settings
* Compliance with Data Protection & Confidentiality
* Ability to deliver training internally and externally
* Strong organizational, prioritization and delegation skills
* Accurate and legible patient notes; ability to apply best practice in acute, community and rehab settings
* Maintaining respiratory competency for emergency physiotherapy duties
* Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to supervise others; effective team member; flexibility and reliability; ability to gain patient trust and engender confidence

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and UK registration may be required. This post is a fixed-term contract for 6 months at Band 6.
