The School of Computing is seeking to appoint part-time Assistant Lecturers who can help us to deliver an excellent standard of education across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in computer science. This position will be term time focused, and the hours are variable.
Your primary responsibilities will be the delivery of small group classes, such as seminars, drop-in sessions, and PC classes, including assisting with the development of teaching materials and methods. You will also have responsibility for marking assessments and some module-related admin.
Responsibilities
* Undertaking teaching and assessment of undergraduate and postgraduate students
* Delivering teaching and learning support as part of a team.
* Collaborating with colleagues in the School on module development, delivery and assessment
* Developing own teaching and professional skills to improve and enhance students' experience
Qualifications
* First degree or equivalent experience in a discipline relevant to computer science
* Possess sufficient breadth and depth of specialist knowledge to deliver an excellent standard of classroom and practical teaching in at least one key area of Computer Science
* Ability to engage the interest and enthusiasm of students and inspire them to learn
* Ability to assess the work and progress of students using agreed criteria, and provide constructive feedback
