SEN Teaching Assistant – Location: Sheffield (S13); Salary: £95–£120 per day (Depending on Experience); Start Date: Immediate; Contract Type: Day-to-day/ Long Term, Full time / Part time.

GSL Education are seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to work with schools in Sheffield. This role provides individual and small group support, ensuring pupils engage with their learning, develop confidence, and thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
About the Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with teachers to support pupils with additional needs. You will assist in implementing learning strategies, provide one-to-one support, and help manage behaviour, contributing to a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Responsibilities
* Deliver one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEND.
* Assist teachers in planning and delivering differentiated lessons.
* Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
* Encourage independence and confidence in learning.
* Prepare and organise classroom resources and materials.
* Monitor pupil progress and report observations to teaching staff.
* Assist pupils with personal care or mobility support if required.
* Supervise pupils during breaks and lunchtimes when needed.
* Participate in school trips and extracurricular activities.
* Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and support staff.
Requirements
* Experience working with children in a UK school setting, preferably with SEND.
* A degree in Psychology.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting children.
* Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent (desirable).
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
