Responsibilities
* Inspect Houses in Multiple Occupation and licensed caravan parks, assess risks and secure compliance with the law and licensing conditions.
* Offer advice to landlords and tenants and investigate complaints and enquiries relating to the private‑rented sector, including allegations of illegal eviction.
* Assess hazards in line with HHRS guidance.
* Investigate and gather evidence to support the issuing of Civil Penalty Notices, tribunal hearings and/or the recommendation of prosecution.
* Support colleagues and undertake joint visits where necessary.
Qualifications
* Significant relevant experience in private sector housing, or a related subject.
* Understanding of the use of HHRS to assess hazards and deficiencies in domestic properties.
* Ability to escalation enforcement for non‑compliance, including issuing Civil Penalty Notices and undertaking investigations that may lead to prosecution.
