Assistant Farm Manager Required - Broilers
Location: Girton/Scarle
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Farm Manager to join the team at Pilgrims Europe. The role requires a driving licence for travelling between farms; a company van will be provided after licence checks.
Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assist in maintaining the smooth and efficient running of the Broiler farm, developing the requisite skills in line with the Pilgrims Europe competency framework.
Responsibilities include maintaining correct and up‑to‑date records of birds, food, supplies, and other farm matters; ensuring adequate supply of essential stock and placing correct orders when necessary.
They will work to reduce negative environmental impact, including waste reduction and recycling procedures.
When applicable, the role involves managing, motivating and training Farm Assistant(s) in all areas of farm operation.
They maintain communication with the Farm Manager regarding crop performance and will deputise for the Farm Manager in absence, covering all aspects of farm management and emergency call‑outs.
Other reasonable duties will be expected and bird welfare must be of utmost priority.
The role requires working independently with minimal supervision in a hands‑on farming environment, with a keen interest in animal welfare and a passion for learning.
The candidate will live the welfare as a core condition in all that they do and will have opportunities for growth via the bespoke Agriculture Academy.
Shift pattern: 5 out of 7 days (sixth day as required), covering 48 hours a week.

* Previous experience in a Poultry Farm environment
* Level 2 / 3 Poultry Passport Qualification
* Be prepared to undertake NVQs
* Flexibility and reliability
