Junior Accountant
Location: Swansea
Position: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £28k
Our client, a well-established and growing practice, is looking for a Junior Accountant to join their friendly, busy office in Swansea.
This is a perfect opportunity for an AAT student seeking to progress and study ACCA in the future.
The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience and be eager to develop and progress.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparation and submission of VAT Returns
2. Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
3. Handle accruals & prepayments
4. Perform balance sheet reconciliations
5. Stock reporting and analysis
6. Support the Administration Team
7. Process expenses & credit card statements
8. Maintain, implement, and improve internal controls and procedures
9. Support the Management Accountant and Director
10. Assist with Group Finance queries and support the Group Finance Director
11. Manage purchase ledger activities: matching, batching, & coding invoices
12. Prepare and process payments via BACS
13. Raise sales invoices
14. Allocate payments
15. Perform bank reconciliations
Skills Required:
1. Good spoken and written communication skills
2. Strong analytical skills
3. Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and Word
4. Confident, approachable, and team-oriented
5. Show initiative and adaptability in working practices
The role is based in-office, 5 days a week, from 9 am to 5 pm.
This position is suitable for someone looking to progress into management accounting duties while handling day-to-day tasks.
