An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Parts Planner to join the Trent Fleet & Mature Engines (TFM) Fleet Management Planning & Control team at Rolls-Royce covering the Trent 700, 800, 900 & 7000.
This role sits at the heart of a major transformation programme, responsible for establishing and managing the processes and strategies that optimise demand, support, and inventory for used spare parts across TFM fleet engine programmes. You will play a critical role in ensuring customer requirements are met while enabling aftermarket activities to continue delivering significant revenue and profitability for Rolls-Royce.
As part of a high-impact value stream, you will help define requirements and shape, develop, and implement parts strategies, including Return to Parts (RTP) initiatives involving used engine teardown and parts re-use. This work is a key enabler in achieving the value stream's operational and financial objectives, while also driving improved sustainability.
The role requires creativity, drive, and a passion for working across the enterprise to deliver tangible value, accelerate outcomes, and embed lasting improvements in parts management and shop visit cost control.
You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders, confidently challenging data and assumptions, applying risk-based decision-making, and taking ownership to drive investigations and actions through to completion. Key stakeholders include Aftermarket Operations, Procurement, Engineering, Engine Clearance, New Parts Forecasting, and Finance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and support the development of active used material management processes and policies in support of global MRO and customer operations.
* Maintain a strong understanding of new parts and repair supply chain performance, enabling early risk identification and mitigation through Critical Parts Management activities.
* Shape and develop the strategy, processes, and governance for Return to Parts (RTP) and used material utilisation, with a focus on increasing Serviceable Used Material (SUM), reducing Held Out of Service (HOOS) inventory, and lowering reliance on high-value new material.
* Define value stream requirements for new and used supply chains through the Supply Chain Requirements Document, aligned to product strategy and lifecycle phase.
* Establish and maintain project and long-range demand forecasting databases to support strategic decision-making.
* Act as a customer advocate, supporting and directing the supply chain on reactivations, transfers, and other initiatives.
* Support functional risk identification and management activities.
* Act as functional co-ordinator for Product and Lifecycle Management audit reviews.
* Lead additional strategic change projects on behalf of the Value Stream Planning & Control function as required.
* Provide delegation and support for the Supply Chain Projects Manager.
Who we're looking for:
To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:
* Strong Data analysis and decision-making skills, comfortable with ambiguity and creative problem solving.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
* IT proficiency including good working knowledge of SAP MRP/Sales & Distribution & Excel.
* Understanding of forecasting & demand management and inventory principles, planning and managing.
* Programme management experience in support of development & execution of strategies and new concepts.
* Experience of MRO/used material supply chains including Reduce To Produce (RTP).
* Experience of Supply Chain and Manufacturing.
* As part of this role, the successful candidate will interface with a wide range of disciplines and be confident in acting as Rolls-Royce Planning & Control advocate with cross functional interfaces & across organisational boundaries.
* Have or be working towards professional APICS membership would be advantageous.
* Awareness of Services including overhaul or repair activities would be an advantage.
* Programme management skills and experience at developing & defining new processes & methodologies.
