Location: Stainless Steel Polishing Room
Wages: £13 (after training, hourly rate will be reviewed)
Training will be provided by experienced polisher
Dayshift position:
Mon - Thurs 7am - 15.30pm
Friday 7am - 15.00pm
Job Purpose: To perform polishing and finishing of stainless-steel components to required specifications using hand tools, polishing machines, and abrasive materials in a controlled environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform polishing, buffing, and finishing operations on stainless steel parts using manual and automatic machines.
* Interpret job orders, blueprints, or finish specifications to achieve desired surface quality (brushed finish, mirror finish).
* Inspect surfaces for defects such as scratches, pits, or weld marks before and after polishing.
* Use grinding, sanding, and buffing tools, as necessary, to prepare surfaces.
* Maintain polishing tools, equipment, and cleanliness of the polishing room.
* Ensure proper handling and storage of materials.
* Follow company quality assurance protocols and meet production targets.
* Adhere to safety and environmental guidelines (PPE usage)
Preferred Qualifications:
* Previous experience is essential.
* Familiarity with polishing wheels, abrasive compounds, grinders, and hand tools
* High level of precision and ability to identify surface imperfections
* Ability to stand for long periods, lift to 25 kg, and perform repetitive tasks
Work Environment:
* High-noise area; hearing protection may be required
* Exposure to fine metal dust and polishing compounds (respiratory protection may be required)
* PPE: gloves, masks, goggles, ear protection, steel-toe boots
