Carer /Support Worker Job ref. PUR-632-211 About the Direct Payment Holder A permanent Carer role is available to support a young client in their home and local community. This is an ongoing role offering full-time or part-time hours, shared between a team of five PAs. The client is friendly and outgoing, with a strong love of Disney, movies (including Wish, The Lion King, Frozen, Moana), music, singing, and animals. The role is based in a family home shared with the client’s dad, brother, grandmother, and uncle. There are no pets. There is an established team of four other PAs; however, PAs usually work independently rather than together. Hours and rate of pay £14–£15 per hour, depending on experience. Up to 35 hours per week, split across the PA team. Usual hours (may vary and not required every week) include: • Monday: 7:30–8:30, 8:30–17:00 • Tuesday: 8:00–9:00, 9:00–17:00 • Wednesday: 9:00–19:00 • Thursday: 7:30–8:30, 8:30–17:00 • Friday: 17:00–22:00 • Saturday: 9:30–13:00, 17:00–22:00 • Sunday: 9:30–13:00 Location Hertfordshire (EN8) DBS/Checks Confirmation of DBS check Right to Work and references will be needed. Training Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required: • Safeguarding Adults • Introduction to first aid • Health and Safety / Moving and handling What you would be doing… The Carer will provide one-to-one support with daily living, personal care, household tasks, and social activities. Duties include: • Support with getting in and out of bed and wheelchair • Dressing and undressing • Showering and bathing • Assistance with toileting • Hair, skin, and general personal care • Medication support • Meal preparation, cooking, and clearing up • Cleaning, dusting, vacuuming • Changing bed linen, laundry, and ironing • Assistance with shopping • Supporting mobility within the home • Assisting in and out of a car/van • Accompanying the client to social and leisure activities such as the park, cinema, bowling, swimming, zoos, farms, laser tag, and similar outings • Providing companionship, including watching TV or Disney movies, and playing board games or cards • Supporting the client to take part in chosen activities, both at home and in the community Required skills and experience Requirements • Female applicants only, due to the need to provide intimate personal care • Willingness to provide personal and intimate care • Willingness to prepare food • Trained in Moving and Handling, including the use of hoists and slings • Able to use additional equipment as required • Comfortable working independently and using own initiative This advert complies with the Sex Discrimination Act (1975) Section 7 (2b).
