Senior Support Worker – Children and Young People with Disabilities (Permanent)
Location: Oxford
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £28,500 per annum

We are recruiting a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive Senior Support Worker to join our client’s team at a well-established Oxford-based residential short breaks service, supporting children and young people with significant physical and learning disabilities.
About the Role
As a Senior Support Worker, you will take a key role in delivering high-quality care and enriching experiences for children and young people with a variety of needs, including complex health conditions and autism spectrum conditions.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing day-to-day personal care and emotional support in a safe and nurturing environment
Leading and mentoring support staff to maintain high standards of care
Engaging children in sensory play, arts and crafts, recreational, and community-based activities
Working closely with families, schools, healthcare professionals, and other agencies to ensure a holistic approach to each young person’s care
Promoting independence, confidence, and positive outcomes for every child
About You
We’re looking for someone with warmth, patience, and enthusiasm for supporting children with disabilities. You’ll be confident working both independently and as part of a team, always putting the wellbeing of young people first.
You’ll ideally have:
Previous experience in a care or support worker role, preferably with children or young people with disabilities
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A compassionate, child-centred approach to care
A commitment to ensuring safety, inclusion, and positive development
A relevant qualification ( Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or Health & Social Care) or willingness to work towards one
