To support and contribute to the effective provision of a high-quality Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service as part of the Occupational Health & Wellbeing Service (OHWB). The post-holder will have day-to-day responsibility for Occupational Health Clinics and a designated caseload, providing employees with a comprehensive and confidential OH Service. OHWB services are extended to the staff of the Trust and external organisations.
The post holder will work under supervision to achieve competency as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN), with a commitment to commencing academic training to BSc standard within 1-2 years.
The post holder will support junior team members to achieve the service objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the protection and promotion of the health and wellbeing of current and prospective employees, as well as individuals from contracted and other organisations, according to Trust arrangements.
2. Deliver OH clinical activities such as pre-placement health clearance, risk management, and exposure-related advice and intervention, in accordance with Trust/Department policies. Support may include management referral consultations and reporting.
3. Provide evidence-based opinions, interventions, and guidance to Trust management and partner organisations to support line and risk management responsibilities, safeguarding against work-related risks, and promoting safe work practices.
4. Take responsibility for specific areas of occupational health service delivery and actively promote the OH service by acting as a key link for managers and HR, including external clients.
5. Support OH Nurses, Clinic Nurses, Administrative Staff, and other team members as appropriate.
6. Within competence levels, deputise for the Senior Occupational Health Adviser in their absence.
