About the Role As a Teaching Assistant, youll support students both in and outside of the classroom helping them to build confidence, develop social and emotional skills, and access learning tailored to their individual needs. Youll work closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral teams to deliver a therapeutic, student-centred approach that makes a lasting difference in the lives of young people. Key Responsibilities Support pupils with SEMH and ASD, promoting engagement, independence and self-esteem. Help deliver creative, individualised learning and behaviour support strategies. Encourage emotional regulation and positive behaviour using trauma-informed techniques. Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to ensure consistent and effective practice. Contribute to a safe, inclusive and inspiring classroom environment. What Were Looking For Experience supporting young people with special educational needs, particularly SEMH and ASD. A caring, patient and resilient approach to working with children. Strong communication and teamwork skills. A passion for inclusive education and child development. Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Childcare, or Health & Social Care are desirable but not essential.
