Educato is working on behalf of an outstanding SEN school in the Knowsley area, which is looking to recruit SEN Teaching Assistants to work with groups of pupils with Special Educational Needs. The school requires two SEN Teaching Assistants to start in September. One will support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and the other will work with the Autism base. This is initially a supply position, with opportunities to earn a school contract. The successful candidates should be ready to work full-time from September 2025.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality support to children with Autism at a school based in Knowsley. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting pupils with PMLD
2. Supporting pupils with Autism
3. Assisting with planning and delivering personalized learning activities
4. Helping develop communication, social, and emotional skills
5. Contributing to observations, assessments, and progress tracking
6. Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and families to provide holistic support
Qualifications and experience required include:
* Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent experience
* Graduates in Psychology, Sociology, or Sports are encouraged to apply
* Team Teach certification is highly desirable
* Moving and Handling training (if working with pupils with PMLD)
* A genuine passion for SEN and understanding of diverse learning needs
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Experience working with children with autism, ADHD, or other additional needs is a bonus
