The Role
This opportunity for a Junior Java Developer at Gentrack enables you to further develop your software engineering skills in a supportive environment. You will join an Agile scrum team working on an industry-leading, cloud-based utilities platform. Our culture of excellence offers personal development resources and extensive training. Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and maintain software within a self-organizing, multi-disciplinary scrum team.
2. Follow and contribute to established engineering practices within a tier 1 delivery organization.
3. Prioritize quality through code reviews, testing, and maintaining automated test suites.
4. Participate actively in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, refinement, planning, and retrospectives.
5. Engage in continuous growth through personal training and development.
6. Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders internally and externally.
Experience Required
* At least 1+ years of commercial Java software development experience or equivalent.
* Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
* Proficiency in technologies and concepts including Object-Oriented Design in Java or .NET.
* Willingness to learn about the Utilities industry, AWS, and SQL databases.
* Strong communication skills to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences.
* A growth mindset focused on continuous improvement.
* Commitment to key projects and problem-solving for customer needs.
* Highly collaborative, adaptable, and proactive in seizing opportunities.
