HGV Mechanic - Used Vehicle Preparation Location: Dudley Salary: £44,000 - £54,000 per annum (DOE) Hours: Monday to Friday Day Shift Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Company Overview:Our client is a well-established and highly respected business specialising in the sale of quality used HGV vehicles. With a stock of over 200 vehicles and more than 500 units sold annually, they have built a strong reputation for reliability, workmanship, and customer satisfaction.Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic to join their busy workshop in Dudley.The Role:As an HGV Mechanic - Used Vehicle Preparation, you will play a key role in ensuring all vehicles are fully inspected, repaired, and presented to the highest standards prior to sale. You'll be working within a professional, well-equipped workshop alongside a skilled and dedicated team.Key Responsibilities: Carry out detailed inspections and preparation of HGVs prior to resaleDiagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic toolsPerform routine servicing, maintenance, and component replacementsEnsure all vehicles are safe, roadworthy, and meet quality standardsMaintain accurate service and repair recordsWork collaboratively to meet preparation deadlinesFollow all health & safety procedures and keep the workshop clean and organised Skills & Experience Required: Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle TechnicianStrong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skillsCompetent with diagnostic equipment and softwareNVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or Heavy Vehicle Engineering (preferred)Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilityStrong communication skills and a team-focused attitudeFull UK driving licence (HGV licence advantageous) Additional Requirements: Ability to work independently and as part of a teamReliable and adaptable in a fast-paced environmentWillingness to travel to other sites occasionallyFlexibility for occasional evening or weekend work when required Benefits: Competitive salary (£44,000 - £54,000 DOE)Monday to Friday - Day Shifts Only (No weekends)Overtime availableCompany pension schemeHealth insurancePaid holidays and time offOn-site parkingOngoing training and career progression opportunities How to Apply: If you are an experienced and motivated HGV Mechanic looking for a stable, long-term role with a reputable and growing company, we want to hear from you.
