Role Description
The Senior Leader of Industry Value Engineering will be responsible for defining and driving the execution of our vertical sales strategy. This leader will establish the IVE function and build a team of industry value engineers, leading the team to build industry‑specific value models, crafting compelling narratives, and equipping our teams with the content, tools, and assets required to win. IVE ensures we speak the language of our customers’ industries, quantifies business impact, and consistently positions Equinix as the essential partner for digital transformation. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes, along with strong leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive vertical sales strategy that aligns with the overall go‑to‑market strategy and plans.
* Value Proposition Development: Collaborate with product management, marketing, and sales teams to create compelling value propositions that resonate with target customers and differentiate our offerings in the market.
* Market Analysis: Conduct in‑depth market research and analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning, using insights to inform product development and marketing strategies.
* Customer Engagement: Oversee customer engagement initiatives, ensuring that the value engineering team effectively communicates product value and addresses customer pain points.
* Financial Analysis: Lead efforts to quantify the financial benefits of products for customers, including ROI and total cost of ownership analyses, to support sales efforts and customer decision‑making.
* Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, sales, and marketing teams to ensure alignment on product offerings and value messaging.
* Performance Metrics: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of value engineering initiatives and their impact on sales and customer satisfaction.
* Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by collecting feedback from customers and internal stakeholders to refine value propositions and enhance product offerings.
* Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team of value engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Skills, Experience, & Qualifications
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
* Experience: 10+ years of experience in value engineering, product management, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
* Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of multiple industries (e.g., financial services, technology, telco, public sector) and market dynamics.
* Leadership Skills: Excellent skills in building, developing, and managing a strong team.
* Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with experience in financial analysis and market research.
* Customer Focus: Demonstrated ability to understand customer needs and translate them into actionable strategies.
* Collaboration: Experience working cross‑functionally and building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Pay Range
* United States - Dallas Infomart Office (DAI): $384,000 – $576,000 USD / Annual
* United States - Redwood City Office (GHQ): $461,000 – $691,000 USD / Annual
* Canada - Toronto Office (TRO): $360,000 – $540,000 CAD / Annual
