Purpose of role
Reporting to the Client Services and Operations Manager, the paraplanner provides support to ensure the highest standards of client service delivery that are consistent, compliant, and proactive, aligned with Ascot Lloyd values and mindful of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) and Consumer Duty rules.
Working closely with Financial Advisers and IFA Administrators, the role supports the clients’ advisory process, playing a key part in delivering quality sales support through effective use of software and adherence to set processes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Review fact finds, file notes, client risk profile questionnaires, etc., provided by Financial Advisers, to understand client requirements.
* Undertake research and analysis, including fund research, pre-meeting document compilation, risk profile cleansing, product comparison, charges analysis, and taxation implications (IHT, CGT, LTA, CEG).
* Compile suitability reports detailing recommended advice tailored to client needs.
* Discuss reports with Financial Advisers, making necessary amendments.
* Generate and submit case packs to the Tax and Compliance teams, and undertake remedial work as needed.
* Instruct IFA Administrators to prepare client packs.
* Record, monitor, and report progress via Intelligent Office.
* Work within agreed timescales, reporting obstacles and deviations to manage client expectations.
* Alert the CS&O Manager to potential service delivery failures for swift resolution and process improvement.
* Support the Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) initiative.

Experience / Skills Required
* Financial Planning Diploma qualification or equivalent
* Experience in end-to-end paraplanning
* Proficiency in research tools such as Pensin (Selectapension), FE Analytics, Iress/Exchange, Voyant/FinCalc, and Distribution Technology (Dynamic Planner)
* Understanding of and willingness to work with centralized investment propositions, including multi-asset/multi-manager solutions, Discretionary Fund Managers, and Model Portfolios
* Experience with templated suitability reports and ability to personalize reports beyond standard wording
* Strong prioritization and workload management skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Attention to detail and client confidentiality
* Proficiency in MS Office applications
* Adherence to policies and procedures
